Dictation & Transcription Services

Complete service - includes transcription AND professional formatting. You receive a finished, ready-to-use document.

Pricing Based on Number of Speakers

Simple, objective pricing - no subjective quality debates.

  • 1 Speaker - $2.25/minute
    Solo dictation, single person speaking
    Examples: Attorney dictating a brief, professor recording lecture notes
  • 2 Speakers - $2.50/minute
    Two-person conversation or interview
    Examples: Client interview, deposition (attorney + witness), business meeting (2 people)
  • 3+ Speakers - $2.75/minute
    Multi-party conversations, meetings, panel discussions
    Examples: Staff meeting, roundtable discussion, multi-party deposition
    Includes speaker identification and tracking

Minimum Charge: $45 for all dictation services

Note: The $45 minimum covers projects under ~20 minutes (1 speaker) or ~16 minutes (3+ speakers)

Audio Requirements:

  • Clear, audible recording
  • Minimal background noise
  • Professional recording equipment preferred (but not required)
  • Speaker identification helpful for multi-party recordings

🎤 Audio Quality Note:
We can work with most audio recordings. If your file has technical issues that make transcription impossible or would require excessive time, we'll contact you before starting work to discuss options or decline the project. No surprise charges.

I work with your content and handle the production side—layout, formatting, structure, page numbering, headings, spacing, and submission requirements—so your document looks polished and ready for review or publication.

This is expert document formatting and production. I do not provide grammar editing, content editing, developmental editing, or ghostwriting services.

I offer three tiers of manuscript services based on complexity and page count:

TIER 1: Standard Reports & Manuscripts

Why We Require Lead Time:
Professional dissertation formatting is detailed, meticulous work that requires focused attention in 3-4 hour sessions to maintain the precision your graduate school demands. Adequate lead time ensures quality work and allows for the 2 included revision rounds to address any graduate school feedback.

Turnaround & Priority Processing

Standard Turnaround:

  • Tier 1 (up to 100 pages): 3-5 business days
  • Tier 2 (101-200 pages): 7-10 business days (quoted individually)
  • Tier 3 (Dissertations): 14-30 business days depending on page count

Priority Processing:

  • Next available business day: +25% (Tier 1 only)
  • Rush dissertations: +50% to +100% (subject to availability)

Revision Policy:

  • Two rounds of normal revisions included (within 48 hours of delivery)
  • Tier 3 (Dissertations): 2 revision rounds specifically for graduate school formatting feedback
  • Additional revisions beyond included rounds: $45/hour (Tier 1-2) or $75/hour (Tier 3)

Attorney Time Entry

  • Convert handwritten or dictated time entries
  • Enter time directly into your billing system (with access) or provide formatted entries for your staff
  • Proofread and organize by client/matter
  • Generate daily, weekly, or monthly summaries

Pricing: $45/hour based on actual time worked. 1-hour minimum. Time rounded to nearest 15 minutes. Final invoice reflects verified tracked time through our secure timekeeping system.

How We Bill

DocuCraft uses two billing methods depending on the service type.

Dictation & Transcription Services (Complete Package)

Fixed per-minute pricing based on number of speakers - you know the exact cost before we start.

Pricing includes BOTH transcription and formatting - you receive a finished, ready-to-use document.

Pricing by Speaker Count:

  • 1 speaker: $2.25/minute
  • 2 speakers: $2.50/minute
  • 3+ speakers: $2.75/minute
  • Minimum charge: $45 (all dictation)
  • Priority Processing (next available business day): +25%

Example: 30-minute legal deposition (2 speakers)
30 minutes × $2.50 = $75 (complete finished document, ready to file)

All Other Services (Hourly)

Document formatting (when you already have typed text), Excel, PowerPoint, PDF services are billed based on actual time worked.

  • Billing: Rounded to nearest 15 minutes

Example: Formatting existing typed text into legal pleading
1 hour 17 minutes of work = 1.5 hours × $45 = $67.50

Why Two Methods?

Dictation services are priced per-minute because they're predictable - we transcribe your audio AND format it into a finished document. You know the exact total cost upfront.

Other services (formatting existing text, Excel work, PowerPoint, PDF services, etc.) vary greatly in complexity, so hourly billing based on actual verified work ensures fairness for both parties.
